Ravindra Kishore Sinha, who helped found India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and security services group SIS, died in Noida Friday, Oct. 30, according to a family notice cited by Swaraj Post.
NDTV Profit also reported his death. PRS Legislative Research records show Sinha represented Bihar in the Rajya Sabha from April 10, 2014, to April 9, 2020. His official biography says he joined the Jan Sangh in 1966.
SIS Limited said in a company filing that Sinha’s resignation as executive director and chairman took effect Nov. 24, 2025, citing personal health grounds. The company appointed him chairman emeritus effective Jan. 29, 2026.
SIS traces its origins to an idea Sinha developed after the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War: creating jobs for retired service personnel. The company says he had worked as a journalist covering crime and politics. SIS provides security, facility management and cash logistics services.
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary wrote in a Hindi post on X that Sinha’s death was “extremely heartbreaking.” NDTV Profit carried an English rendering of the post.
NDTV Profit reported that family members planned to take Sinha’s remains to Patna and place them at Annapurna Bhawan in Patliputra for public tributes.
