“This is a completely rewritten application that’s quicker and more stable than its predecessors,” Squirrels cofounder Andrew Gould said. “Of course, we included new features, too.”
Reflector 3 for Windows includes support for receiving connections from Miracast devices, and both the Mac and Windows version include easier access to common controls.
Reflector 3 also includes the ability to take full-resolution screen shots, iPhone X frames and connected device screen previews. Screen previews appear in the control center and allow users to quickly see what’s on a screen before showing it to an audience.
Along with new features, Reflector 3 was rewritten for stability and performance, and it includes several new visible changes.
“The first thing people will notice is a redesigned interface,” Gould said. “The new interface and experience was designed around modern operating systems being used today, but it’s only the surface of Reflector 3.”
Introductory pricing is available. Reflector 3 is normally priced at $14.99 USD, but a 20 percent discount is available for a limited time after launch. Existing users can upgrade at a bigger discount by opening Reflector 2 and checking for updates.
What’s new in Reflector 3?
Miracast
Reflector 3 for Windows includes Miracast receiving support. Anyone using Microsoft Surface tablets and other computers can now easily share and record their screens.
Screenshots
Instantly take full-resolution screenshots of any connected device.
iPhone X Frames
A new display engine allows Reflector 3 to display the edge-to-edge iPhone X screen with a frame.
Windows-Specific Upgrades
On Windows, Reflector 3 is located near the Start button instead of the system tray by the clock where Reflector 2 was located. Connected devices are now visible in a window instead of a pop-up menu. This makes devices easier to locate and manage.
Interface and Experience Updates
Reflector 3 was redesigned for modern operating systems and includes interface updates that make mirroring and managing connected devices easier. Common user actions are easier to find and use.
Under-the-hood Improvements
Reflector 3 was completely rewritten for stability, performance and speed. Connections are more stable and connecting is faster and more reliable than ever before.
