SAN DIEGO, May 08, 2018 -- Research done on drug and alcohol rehab centers that use the relapse prevention therapy have indicated that the individuals who learn and these coping skills while in this type of drug rehab center will tend to have a higher success rate of maintaining abstinence once they have left the drug rehab center. The skills these individuals have acquired throughout the drug and alcohol rehab therapy tend to be retained even after the completion of the drug rehabilitation programs, and they return to life in the normal world.

Relapse prevention therapy is only one of many strategies used among drug rehab programs to enable patients learn during drug rehab to reenter society with the tools they need to cope with the triggers they are faced with on a day to day basis, but it seems to be a highly effective method.
