MIRAMAR, Fla., Nov. 14, 2017 -- Just as the temperatures start to dip and winter chill sets in, Spirit Airlines (NASDAQ:SAVE) is bringing its ultra-low fares to Virginia’s capital city! Beginning March 15, 2018, Spirit will begin daily, nonstop service from the Richmond International Airport (RIC) to Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Richmond will become the 62nd destination to join Spirit’s growing network, connecting the Old Dominion to the Sunshine State just in time for spring.
“As a Richmond native, I’m thrilled to bring our ultra-low fares to my hometown,” said Bobby Schroeter, Spirit Airlines' Vice President of Consumer Marketing. “Watching both this community and this airline grow and change over the last decade, I know the time is right to bring Spirit to Virginia. Our commitment to low fares will bring more travel opportunities to the area, whether it be a family theme park vacation or last-minute beach getaway.”
"Richmond International Airport welcomes the arrival of Spirit Airlines,” said Aubrey M. Stanley, chairman of the Capital Region Airport Commission. “Spirit is one of America’s fastest-growing airlines and with its announcement of new Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale service from RIC, Richmond Region travelers have more choices, easier access, and more savings than ever before to two of our most popular destinations.”
Guests can check out the crazy-low fares and vacation packages available to all of Spirit’s destinations at the redesigned spirit.com, where they can also sign up to receive alerts on Spirit's email deals and offers.
