Neutron’s first flight is expected in 2027 as Rocket Lab reports third-quarter results Monday, leaving investors to weigh the schedule alongside the company’s latest financial performance.
Rocket Lab said Oct. 14 that Neutron is expected to make its first flight in 2027. In an Aug. 10 update, Rocket Lab said Stage 1 tank production was aligned with its target of taking Neutron to the launch pad in Q4 2026. Those announcements cover separate steps: bringing Neutron to the launch pad and making its first flight.
Neutron is Rocket Lab’s reusable rocket for medium-lift missions, including larger satellite launches. EconoTimes previously reported on a January rupture during a first-stage tank pressure test. The company’s October announcement did not cite the January rupture as the reason for the 2027 flight target.
Investors may also watch for any company comment on customer demand for Neutron. Rocket Lab scheduled its Q3 results for after the U.S. market close Nov. 9, according to its Oct. 20 announcement.
