ICI reported Monday that the Rouen prosecutor’s office announced an aggravated-violence investigation after an assault video circulated amid clashes between far-right and far-left groups in central Rouen.

The violence followed nationwide protests Saturday, ICI reported. The investigation will allow authorities to review camera recordings in the courthouse area. No victims had been formally identified and no complaints had been filed at the time of the report.

Blast’s footage captures a man being struck while on the ground. Officers move in to break up the clash, and participants pull away, shouting nationalist slogans, ICI reported.
