Luxury hotels in Seoul are experiencing a soaring number of wedding reservations among brides.
Many of the brides are said to be “revenge spending” after struggling under various restrictions imposed by the pandemic.
According to industry sources, wedding reservations at luxury hotels such as the Lotte Hotel Seoul, Shilla Seoul, Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, and Grand WalkerHill Seoul are fully booked until early next year.
With the repeal of social distancing measures, there has been an increase in the number of reservations for large weddings with 200 to 300 guests.
Reservations for once-popular "small weddings" have, on the other hand, slowed.
Weddings in luxury hotels typically cost between 40 and 90 million won for 300 or more guests.
