In an attempt to encourage children to learn about virtual currency, the South African Foundation for Space Development has developed a project called "The Digital Currency Science Centre Exhibit Project".
It is developed in association with the Digital Community and consists of a string of working Science Centre exhibits. The first exhibit, a visual and mining rig, is currently being developed and will be housed at the Cape Town Science Centre in South Africa.
The project follows the same line of thinking as that of the Hour of Code initiative, which aims to provide children with an opportunity to understand computer science and learn coding. It aims to create an understanding of the process and technology behind cryptocurrency so that these children are well-equipped to have a successful career in the virtual currency space.
The foundation plans to launch the exhibit on June 1, 2015 to coincide with the Africa Code Week Pilot Event and World Economic Forum Event.
