The chipmakers are due to publish third-quarter results on consecutive days. AI-memory demand is expected to contribute to earnings at both.
Investors will see SK Hynix’s results first, on Wednesday, Oct. 28, followed by Samsung Electronics’ report Thursday, Oct. 29.
The index fell 7.5% for the session as Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped 4.9% and Taiwan’s benchmark declined 3.41%.
The company says equipment installation at the building has U.S. authorization. Mod B was completed in 2023.
