SK hynix said it is weighing special dividends and will provide investors with further details on shareholder returns after board approval, alongside its Wednesday, Oct. 28, third-quarter results.
The company did not disclose a payout amount or announce that a payment had been approved. Shareholders are the intended recipients if a distribution proceeds.
Separately, SK hynix completed its 40 trillion won share-repurchase program on Wednesday, Oct. 21. The buying window opened Aug. 20 and had initially been due to close Nov. 19. Purchases on South Korea’s primary exchange covered 24.07 million shares, about 3.3% of issued stock. The company said all repurchased shares were to be canceled; that step remained pending after buying ended.
SK hynix said no other South Korean listed company had announced a larger planned share retirement. The company supplies memory chips for AI computing.
