SPIE has agreed to buy a 76% stake in Austria-based SAR ANLAGENBAU GmbH, a move it says will broaden its electrical and automation services in Austria and Germany.

Under the agreement announced Wednesday, SAR Managing Director and shareholder Arno Reisinger will invest alongside SPIE and hold up to 24% of the company.

Based in Hausmening, SAR provides electrical engineering and automation services for industrial and infrastructure projects. Its work spans planning, installation, commissioning and maintenance. SPIE said the company has about 230 employees.

SPIE said operational responsibility will remain with SAR’s current leadership. Reisinger and Roman Prinz are managing directors, while Anton Baumberger and Daniela Bachinger are authorized signatories.

Reisinger said the arrangement would give SAR customers access to a broader range of services and offer employees more room to develop professionally. SPIE said the acquisition would also widen its service offerings and strengthen its position in Austria and Germany.

SPIE did not disclose a purchase price. It expects the deal to be completed in early 2027, provided customary conditions are met.
