STERIS plc raised its fiscal 2027 adjusted earnings forecast following stronger second-quarter sales and profit, adding tariff refunds to the per-share outlook while leaving consolidated revenue growth targets unchanged.
The revised adjusted earnings per diluted share (EPS) range is $11.35-$11.55, compared with the previous $11.10-$11.30. Both ends rose by 25 cents. STERIS said refunds received so far this fiscal year account for about 18 cents per share of the forecast. It also cited stable underlying performance in explaining the higher outlook.
Second-quarter revenue reached $1.6 billion, up 9% from $1.5 billion a year earlier. Organic revenue on a constant-currency basis increased 8%. Adjusted diluted EPS was $2.94, compared with $2.47 in the year-earlier quarter, a rise of 47 cents per share.
STERIS maintained its full-year consolidated revenue growth expectations at 7%-8% on a reported basis and 6%-7% on a constant-currency organic basis. The company left those overall targets in place while revising forecasts for two business segments.
The Life Sciences organic growth forecast rose to 9%-10% from 6%-7%. STERIS cited the segment’s performance as a reason for the increase. Applied Sterilization Technologies’ forecast moved down to 6%-7% from 7%-8%, while Healthcare remained at 6%-7%.
Life Sciences now has the highest growth forecast among the three segments. Applied Sterilization Technologies and Healthcare share the same 6%-7% range, although only the Healthcare forecast was unchanged. Life Sciences’ range increased by three percentage points at both ends, while Applied Sterilization Technologies’ fell by one point at each end.
STERIS plans to revise its fiscal 2027 outlook to reflect the proposed acquisition of Xodus Medical, Inc. after the transaction closes.
