Arsenal defender William Saliba said he was “ready to go” on Nov. 3 after returning to full training, three and a half months after his last game, ESPN reported.

Saliba last played for France in the World Cup semifinals before his injury absence. His return to full training brings him back into Arsenal’s preparations, although the supplied reporting gave no date for his next appearance.

Manchester United named Lisandro Martínez among the substitutes for their Champions League match against Roma, ESPN reported. The defender’s place on the bench followed his red card against Chelsea.

The selection put Martínez outside United’s starting lineup for the Roma game. No explanation from the defender or a named United official accompanied the selection news.

At Real Madrid, midfielder Eduardo Camavinga said coach José Mourinho had helped him become more confident. Camavinga also said he was maturing as a player under Mourinho.

Camavinga’s comments concerned his development with the Madrid coach. He attributed his growing confidence to Mourinho’s influence, describing progress in his own game under the manager.

Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola said his team needed to handle the atmosphere at Fenerbahce. He wants Liverpool to “kill the confidence” the Turkish side draws from its noisy home support.

Iraola said improving Liverpool’s attacking output was one of the best ways to do that. His approach linked Liverpool’s work in attack with limiting the encouragement Fenerbahce receives from the crowd.

Fenerbahce coach Dirk Kuyt described the meeting with Liverpool as a “very special” reunion. The former Liverpool forward said he would put his feelings for his old club aside because he had a job to do for Fenerbahce.

Kuyt’s connection to Liverpool gives the match a personal dimension for the Fenerbahce coach. His comments put his responsibilities to his current club ahead of that attachment to his former team.

Former England captain Steven Gerrard singled out Tottenham academy prospect Luca Williams-Barnett as a young player “to look out for.” Gerrard said: “I have seen enough.”

Gerrard based that assessment on the few moments in which he had seen Williams-Barnett show his ability. His comments concerned an academy prospect, rather than an announcement about Tottenham’s team selection.

In contract news, Christian Pulisic signed a new agreement with AC Milan through 2031. The United States international’s deal was reported on Oct. 30, ahead of the Nov. 3 comments and selection developments.
