The Korea Herald reported that Samsung's Exynos 2700 delivered higher CPU and graphics results than Qualcomm's top mobile chip, with Samsung aiming to use the processor in flagship phones.

The Korea Herald tied the comparisons to Samsung's in-house testing and cited unnamed industry sources. The Exynos recorded about 13,000 in Geekbench 6.5 multicore testing, while Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 registered roughly 11,000.

For Geekbench 7.0 multicore, the reported Exynos advantage over the Extreme model was about 15%. Graphics results also favored the Samsung processor: it scored roughly 20% higher in a peak-performance test under demanding gaming conditions and around 5% higher in a separate test of basic graphics work for high-end 3D games. The Korea Herald said the graphics measures relate to capabilities used in gaming and video playback.

Qualcomm's product line has a standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 as well as the Extreme version. Against the standard chip, the Exynos scored 44% higher in Geekbench 6.5 multicore and 36% higher in Geekbench 7.0, the outlet reported. Xiaomi uses the standard processor in its 18 Pro and the Extreme version in the 18 Pro Max.

The Korea Herald also reported that Samsung is expected to manufacture the processor using SF2P, its second-generation 2-nanometer foundry process. The Exynos 2700 is also expected to include an upgraded heat path block, a packaging component intended to improve heat dissipation and performance, according to the report.

Samsung's System LSI business designs the Exynos family for core computing and graphics functions in smartphones. The Korea Herald reported that Samsung uses the earlier Exynos 2600 in some Galaxy S26 phones and its Galaxy Z Flip8.

Park Yong-in, president of Samsung's System LSI business, said at a June management briefing that development was proceeding on schedule and the chip was intended for flagship phones. The chip is expected to debut with Samsung's Galaxy S27 series early next year, The Korea Herald reported.
