The Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute has postponed its 10th Riyadh conference until 2027, delaying a gathering of investors and business leaders while Etihad Airways cancels flights to Saudi Arabia.
The conference had been scheduled for Oct. 26-29, 2026. FII Institute said existing registrations and partnerships remain valid, and it would announce the new dates soon.
The National reported that Etihad had canceled Abu Dhabi services to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam through Oct. 24.
Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said two Oct. 8 attacks targeted King Khalid International Airport facilities and a Saudia aircraft, killing three Saudi citizens and injuring others. On Oct. 15, Saudi-led coalition spokesman Major General Turki Al-Malki accused Houthi forces of attacking civilian airports, including the Riyadh airport.
FII Institute CEO HRH Princess Dr. Maha Bint Mishari Al Saud said the organizer wanted the anniversary conference to meet participants’ expectations for scale and quality. The institute did not attribute its decision to the attacks. It said it would announce the 2027 dates soon.
