The remarks came after Crypto Dyl News argued that XRP was meant for institutional use rather than retail users.

Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz said institutional blockchain adoption may support broader consumer use, but he gave no date for a shift to retail use at scale.

Schwartz replied to crypto commentator Crypto Dyl News, who had argued that XRP was intended for institutional adoption rather than retail use. “I don’t think institutional adoption is the end,” Schwartz wrote. “I think it’s going to lay the groundwork over the next two years for mass retail adoption.”

His reply addressed blockchain use broadly. It did not identify when wider retail adoption might begin or say it would arrive within two years.
