This specific device, the RClamp0532T, offers comprehensive ESD clamping voltage performance while minimizing capacitance loading (0.60pF) to the transmission line. The solution is targeted at the emerging 2.5 Gigabit, 5 Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet lines used in data centers and telecommunications backplanes.
“With the need for increased bandwidth in data centers and telecommunications, high-performance ESD protection has become increasingly critical to safeguarding multi-gigabit Ethernet lines from ESD spikes to ensure round the clock operation,” said Rick Hansen, Senior Director of Product Marketing in Semtech’s Protection Products Group. “Our continued efforts to extend our RClamp platform have led to Semtech giving designers a much needed solution for protecting highly sensitive ports without sacrificing performance in signal integrity.”
Key Features
- Transient protection for high-speed data lines to: IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) ±20kV (air), ±20kV (contact); IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT) 4kV (5/50ns); IEC 61000-4-5 (Lightning) 10A (8/20μs)
- 5V working voltage protection
- Protects two I/O lines
- Ultra-low capacitance (<0.6pF line-to-line)
- Ultra-small flow-through package: 1.6mm x 1.0mm
- Pb-Free and RoHS/WEEE compliant
