VICTORIA, British Columbia, Feb. 27, 2018 --

| What: | BattleSnake, British Columbia’s largest coding event, is a multiplayer, tournament version of the classic arcade game, Snake. Teams have one day to program an artificially intelligent (AI) Snake to compete for cash prizes, going up against other teams in their division — Beginner, Intermediate, or Expert. Attracting teams from across the Pacific Northwest, the event culminates with a multi-round tournament for each division, until one winning snake is left. | |
| Where: | Victoria Conference Centre, 720 Douglas Street, Victoria, British Columbia | |
| When: | Saturday, March 3, 2018. Check-in begins at 8:30AM PST with opening remarks at 10:30AM PST | |
| Why: | BattleSnake was created to bring developers – from grade school students just learning to code to professional developers with years of experience – together in a friendly, co-operative environment and to encourage the tech and startup leaders of tomorrow. This year’s attendees include groups from local schools and regional universities such as UVic, UBC, and SFU, as well as from a variety of leading local and international tech companies. Cash prizes totaling over $11,000 will be awarded to the top performers. |
