Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told a Cabinet meeting Wednesday that Pakistan remains active in diplomacy over Middle East peace, Anadolu Agency reported, tying his comments to recent regional talks.

He described one recent meeting in Tehran among officials from Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye as “positive,” Anadolu reported. The four sides discussed ways to reduce regional tensions, according to the agency. Separately, Sharif described his wider diplomatic contacts with Iran and other regional actors as “very productive.”

A joint statement after the Tehran meeting said the four countries would continue regional security talks and hold further consultations on regional cooperation, peace and stability. The statement did not set a date for another meeting. EconoTimes’ earlier report on the four-country talks detailed the agreement.
