An insider with a track record for accurate PS5 Pro leaks suggests that Nintendo may announce the Nintendo Switch 2 early next month. The rumored pricing details have gamers buzzing about the upcoming console.
Nintendo Switch 2 Pricing Leak Fuels New Speculation
Nintendo Switch 2 pricing information may have just surfaced. Even though Nintendo has officially confirmed that it is developing a new console and hinted that it will be the Nintendo Switch's successor, the company has been mum on details about the hardware and when it will be unveiled.
A lot of speculation has pointed to next year as the likely release window for the Nintendo Switch 2. Therefore, according to Comicbook's most recent rumor on the console, if this is accurate, then its reveal is likely to be imminent.
The rumor's unnamed source has an intriguing history, though. The claim originated in an unofficial Grand Theft Auto 6 Discord server and was spread by a player going by the name of "MoistyCharlie."
Source Correctly Predicted PS5 Pro Price and Release Date
Anonymous sources usually aren't reliable, but this particular individual allegedly divulged the release date and pricing of the PS5 Pro before Sony even announced the specifics. Plus, a lucky double guess is definitely out of the question, given that no one anticipated the PS5 Pro to cost $700.
If the source is to be believed, the second generation Nintendo Switch will be unveiled "early next month." The leaker doesn't specify when this would happen in October, but the word "early" implies sometime in the middle of the month, maybe even the beginning of the week. The leaker also provided a price point, adding more details. Rumor mills claim that the Nintendo Switch 2 will cost $400 when it launches.
Two Versions of Nintendo Switch 2 Expected at Launch
In order to cater to a range of budgets, Nintendo will reportedly release two distinct console SKUs. The less expensive model is perhaps $400.
Despite the lack of information, it is possible that Nintendo may introduce a more affordable, all-digital console alongside their current model with a disc drive. This was available with the Nintendo Switch in the form of the Nintendo Switch Lite at a later point in the device's lifecycle, though.
It goes without saying that you should not put too much stock in rumors or speculation, no matter where they came from.
