GREENVILLE, S.C., April 24, 2017 -- eRAD announced today that Shin Imaging Center has selected eRAD’s Radiology Information System (RIS), PACS, Speech Recognition, and Patient and Physician Portals to dynamically manage its clinical and business workflows. The practice also selected RADAR, eRAD’s secure healthcare communications platform, to quickly and easily connect with referring physicians and patients.
eRAD is a subsidiary of RadNet, Inc., (NASDAQ:RDNT) and a leading provider of standards-based, web-centric radiology image and data management solutions.
Expanding from its Los Angeles location, Shin Imaging opened a second center in Fullerton, Calif., and had an aggressive implementation schedule. The eRAD services team was able to meet the planned go-live date. “We set the bar really high, and the eRAD team did an outstanding job,” said Charlie Maloney, President of Shin Imaging. “Even when some of the hardware was delayed, which cut out critical time, they rolled up their sleeves and came through. This is one of the reasons we selected eRAD—because others were not even in the ballpark in terms of the quality of customer attention.”
Another driving factor in the decision was eRAD’s portal technology. “eRAD’s Physician Portal was better than any of the others we saw,” said Cindy Shin, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Shin Imaging. “Report turnaround time is a key measure for us, and the portal facilitates that. Our referring physicians will be able to login and quickly see all their patients’ reports, with images, in one place. They’re ready to get away from faxing, and we’re excited to deliver that kind of innovation to our provider community.”
Shin Imaging expects to open a third facility in Buena Park, Calif., later in the year, and eRAD technology will enable monitoring of multiple locations from one dashboard.
“Our aim is to bring cutting edge capabilities that patients and referring physicians cannot find elsewhere. We have brand new imaging equipment—3T MRI is the cornerstone of our business—and we wanted a state-of-the-art PACS and RIS platform to go along with that,” said Maloney.
As Shin Imaging grows its business, it will rely on eRAD to deliver both the technology and the service to support its goals. “The speed in which we got up and running successfully is really astounding,” said Shin. “At every step, eRAD was there with prompt responses and diligent service—and that is critical. Their whole team is the best.”
