Shinhan Card and Dunamu plan an employee-only payment pilot on GIWA Chain, using QR codes at one headquarters merchant, with broader commercialization contingent on related legislation.

Shinhan Card would issue tokens to employees through GIWA Wallet. At checkout, workers would use QR codes to make purchases with those tokens. The proposed test brings token distribution, wallet access and merchant payments into a single trial.

Participation would be limited to Shinhan Card employees. Transactions would be restricted to wallets enrolled before the pilot, and Dojang would verify the identities of participating employees. The merchant would be located inside Shinhan Card’s headquarters, keeping the test to one seller and one employee group.

That scope makes the planned trial a limited workplace payment test rather than a general service launch. It would test QR purchases with Shinhan-issued tokens while access is controlled through prior wallet enrollment and identity verification.

Shinhan Card plans to pursue commercial use after related legislation is completed. It then intends to expand merchant participation and connect the service with global blockchain networks over time. The plan sets legislation as a condition for moving beyond the employee pilot.
