CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., Aug. 30, 2017 -- Shuttle Computer Group, Inc., one of the world’s leading designers of small form computers, announces a new and powerful cube-sized computer, its SZ270R8, designed for video walls and server environments used in government, DoD, virtual reality, and digital signage applications. The SZ270R8 has a stylish aluminum chassis, and is three times smaller than tower PCs.
In spite of its small size, it has an impressive expansion capability and storage capacity. With a new internal design, the SZ270R8 supports large-format dual-slot graphics cards and installs up to four 3.5” hard drives for a wide range of uses in various industries. It also supports Intel®’s new Optane™ Memory to improve data processing and system speed.
“Shuttle is leading the way by using Intel’s Z270 chipset and space for six total drives,” said Robert Garcia, product manager, Shuttle Computer Group. “Add in expanded connectivity and this little box takes the place of much larger computers in places with limited real estate, like behind a video wall or in a closet.”
Equipped with Intel® Z270 chipset, this new high performance XPC cube is designed to drive Intel® Kabylake LGA 1151 processors and deliver outstanding speed performance for fast-moving video. With Intel® HD graphics, the SZ270R8 supports 4K/Ultra HD video playback, creating crisp, clear images and copy.
Up to three independent screens are supported via HDMI® or DisplayPort. The SZ270R8 provides one PCI-E x16 slot (Support Dual Slot VGA card) that supports professional graphics cards for gaming, video walls, and more. The SZ270R8's built-in Dual Gigabit LAN supports Wake on LAN and Teaming Mode, two M.2 2280 and one M.2 2230 slots, 10 USB ports(USB3.0*6), as well as optional RS232/LPT with strong expansion capability for a wide range of applications.
Thanks to its exclusive I.C.E.2 heat pipe technology and an 80 Plus Silver 500W power supply, the SZ270R8 runs extremely quiet, and is stable and energy-efficient for long-term operation.
