Silver prices were lower in Wednesday data from FXStreet and Twelve Data, but their readings used different comparison bases, leaving no directly comparable measure of the metal's daily move.
In a post published at about 5:35 a.m. ET (09:35 UTC) Wednesday, FXStreet reported silver at $54.04 per troy ounce, down 0.71% from its Tuesday reference of $54.42. The displayed prices imply a 0.70% decline when rounded, while FXStreet reported 0.71%.
Twelve Data's page was updated at 7:09 a.m. ET (11:09 UTC). Its Oct. 28 row listed a close of $53.7483, down 1.3166% from that day's $54.4654 open. The table showed $54.4724 for Oct. 27 and a 1.33% decline against the previous close. EconoTimes has previously compared silver readings from multiple providers in an earlier report.
Both sets of figures showed a decline, but they use different reference points and capture separate data snapshots. FXStreet did not identify a specific cause for the move. ICE Benchmark Administration lists the expected start of the LBMA Silver Price auction at 8 a.m. ET (12:00 UTC; noon London time), a separate benchmark from FXStreet's earlier quote.
