Smart Card Alliance Securing Federal Identity 2017 Conference to Cover Leading Government Authentication and Identity Topics

PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J., Feb. 06, 2017 -- The Smart Card Alliance invites government and security executives and thought leaders to attend its Securing Federal ID 2017 conference, coming to Washington D.C. this June. This event provides comprehensive coverage of identity management and strong authentication in government programs, and brings together the most important developments, innovations and experts in federal identity credentialing and access security.

The Smart Card Alliance has opened the call for speakers, and is looking for government agencies to share their use cases and vendor-neutral, educational presentations that focus on federal government-led security policies and infrastructure changes for enhanced security for physical and network (logical) access or trusted identities. Examples of topics that the program committee will consider include:

• Federal Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credentials usage for two-factor authentication
• Derived credentials for mobile identity systems and authentication
• Mobile and cloud identity programs
• Evolving National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards for cybersecurity frameworks and mobile services
• Cyber threats and mitigation programs
• Next generation Common Access Card (CAC), PIV, PIV-I, or Transportation Worker Identity Credential (TWIC) cards for multifactor authentication
