Solana DeFi TVL Excludes Native Staking and Cannot Show Withdrawals

The dollar figure responds to token prices and deposited amounts, so a change does not quantify how much users withdrew.

Solana's decentralized finance (DeFi) total value locked (TVL) counts the dollar value of assets in tracked applications but leaves out native Solana (SOL) staking, limiting what the figure represents.

The total reflects asset valuations and deposited amounts. A TVL change alone cannot determine how much users withdrew.

The distinction connects to EconoTimes' earlier explanation of how TVL rankings can diverge from net deposit changes.
