Solana is seeing accelerating network adoption as its expanding role across the cryptocurrency and decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem attracts more users. Recent data shows the blockchain significantly outpaced Ethereum and Chainlink in new address growth despite relatively modest gains in SOL’s price.
According to data shared by blockchain analytics platform Santiment, the number of new Solana addresses has jumped 33% since September 1. During the same period, SOL recorded a price increase of roughly 20%.
The sharp rise in new addresses suggests fresh users are entering the Solana ecosystem at a faster pace. Growing wallet activity could also indicate increasing demand for applications and services built on the network as Solana continues to expand its presence in DeFi and the broader crypto market.
Ethereum showed a notably different trend. While ETH gained approximately 11% over the same period, the number of new Ethereum addresses remained largely unchanged. The data suggests Ethereum's recent price appreciation was not accompanied by the same level of new-user growth recorded on Solana.
Chainlink also lagged behind Solana in terms of network adoption. LINK climbed from $11.22 on September 1 to $13.96 on October 6, representing a gain of roughly 24%. Despite outperforming SOL on price growth during the period, Chainlink recorded less than a 2% increase in new addresses.
The divergence highlights the strength of Solana's recent user growth. While Ethereum and Chainlink experienced price gains without meaningful increases in new wallet creation, Solana recorded substantial growth in both metrics.
The 33% increase in new addresses could strengthen the case for continued Solana ecosystem expansion if the trend persists. With more users joining the network and SOL maintaining positive price momentum, Solana is emerging as one of the stronger performers in blockchain adoption compared with several major crypto networks.
