The All Progressives Congress (APC) is scheduled to open its 2027 presidential campaign in Kaduna on Oct. 24. Residents interviewed by Premium Times tied their expectations for the campaign to food and transport costs, security and employment opportunities.

Premium Times reported on Oct. 22 that it saw posters featuring President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kaduna Gov. Uba Sani and other APC candidates along major roads, including Independence Way. Commercial bus driver Dan Kundi told the outlet that campaign organizers should explain how the government plans to improve people’s daily lives. Resident Bello Ila cited food and transportation expenses as leaving some households with little for other needs.

Mukaila Sani, a resident of Malali, called for people to be able to travel and conduct business safely, Premium Times reported. Young people interviewed by the outlet asked for jobs and broader economic opportunities.

Premium Times and Blueprint reported that APC Presidential Campaign Council Director-General Abdulaziz Yari said the launch would take place in Kaduna on Oct. 24, after he met with Tinubu. The Kaduna organizing committee named Kaduna Township Stadium as the venue.

Deputy Gov. Hadiza Balarabe said preparations at the stadium were nearing completion after her Oct. 21 inspection, though markings for areas assigned to different states were still unfinished. EconoTimes previously reported on Balarabe’s inspection and the stadium work.

At the campaign council’s Oct. 14 inauguration, APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda said the campaign should connect reforms and investment to people’s everyday experience, describing the goal as “practical improvement in our daily lives.”

Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission lists Jan. 16, 2027, for the presidential and National Assembly elections.
