Oman has extradited Mahadev betting syndicate promoter Sourabh Chandrakar to India, where he is wanted in two Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cases, Gulf News reported, citing authorities.

Gulf News reported that the CBI said Omani police located and detained Chandrakar after coordinating with Indian law enforcement. The outlet said charge sheets have been filed in both CBI cases, while India's Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a prosecution complaint in a separate case. According to Gulf News, Indian authorities backed their formal extradition requests with material from investigations into alleged fraud and money laundering connected to the betting operation.

In an account summarized by Gulf News, Royal Oman Police said officers arrested an unnamed person sought by India in fraud and money-laundering cases. The police said the person was transferred to Indian authorities after required legal procedures were completed; their statement did not identify Chandrakar by name.

The CBI thanked Oman's government and Royal Oman Police for their assistance with the extradition, Gulf News reported.
