South Korea’s won finished slightly weaker against the dollar Friday but remained close to its strongest 2026 level, with Bank of Korea (BOK) data showing a rate of 1,324.6 won per dollar.

The dollar-won rate was 0.4 won above the prior session’s close of 1,324.2 on Oct. 22, the lowest reading recorded this year. Because USD/KRW counts won per dollar, its rise meant the won softened slightly.

The rate was 1,324.5 won per dollar at the open and closed 0.1 won higher. It was 14.9% below the 2026 peak of 1,555.8, reached July 2.

The 1,324.6 finish was below the Oct. 20 close of 1,328.1 but above Thursday’s 2026 low of 1,324.2. BOK data listed the rate at 1,439.6 on Oct. 23, 2025, for comparison with Friday’s close.
