Southwest Airlines plans to report third-quarter results after markets close Wednesday, Oct. 21, with a call the next day, giving investors a chance to compare performance with the July outlook.
The call will begin at 10 a.m. ET (14:00 UTC) Thursday, Oct. 22. In July, Southwest put its adjusted third-quarter earnings forecast at 50 cents to 75 cents a share.
The same update set adjusted 2026 earnings per share at $3.25 to $4.25, replacing an earlier target of at least $4.
Capacity, measured in available seat miles, was forecast to be 1% below the year-earlier level or flat. The outlook called for revenue per available seat mile to rise 17.5% to 19.5% and CASM-X, a unit-cost measure excluding fuel, special items and profit sharing, to climb 3.5% to 4%.
The forecast used fuel costs of $3.70 to $3.75 per gallon, based on forward prices available July 17. Southwest also modeled fare and demand conditions as broadly steady.
