Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) spent $48.07 billion on capital projects in the first nine months of 2026, more than triple its year-earlier outlay, highlighting the scale of its computing investment.

The total rose from $13.85 billion in the same period of 2025, according to results furnished in an Oct. 20 SEC filing. SpaceX reported $13.10 billion in net cash provided by operating activities for the latest nine months and $85.68 billion in net proceeds from its initial public offering.

Third-quarter capital expenditures reached $19.59 billion, up from $6.88 billion a year earlier. The Super Intelligence segment accounted for $16.44 billion of the latest quarterly total. The spending figure was included in earlier coverage of SpaceX’s quarterly results.

SpaceX said the segment’s costs and expenses increased $4.6 billion from a year earlier, primarily because it continued building out computing infrastructure. The filing does not assign all of the segment’s capital expenditures to that work.

At Sept. 30, SpaceX put the segment’s nameplate compute capacity at 1.7 GW, compared with 0.6 GW a year earlier. The company also said work continued on COLOSSUS II.

Super Intelligence revenue rose to $7.56 billion from $813 million. SpaceX attributed the increase mainly to new cloud services agreements, its acquisition of Cursor and greater adoption of Grok.

The segment reported $431 million in operating income after a $1.72 billion operating loss in the year-earlier quarter. Across the company, third-quarter revenue was $14.58 billion and net income was $4.40 billion.

MarketScreener recorded SpaceX shares at $159.28 at 8 p.m. ET on Oct. 20, a 7.77% gain from the regular-session close of $147.79.
