CHARLOTTE, Mich., April 18, 2016 -- Spartan Emergency Response (“Spartan”), a business unit of Spartan Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ:SPAR), announced today that it is expanding coverage in the state of Indiana, with the addition of Donley Safety (“Donley”) as the exclusive authorized sales and service center for its innovative line of pumpers, aerials, rescues, tankers, and wildland apparatus.
Why Donley Safety
Spartan added Donley Safety as an authorized dealer to provide Indiana fire departments a convenient, knowledgeable, and trusted service provider. Founded in 1980, Donley Safety is one of the oldest, continuously-run industrial and fire equipment dealerships in Indiana. The company operates from a state-of-the-art 30,000 square foot facility, centrally located in the heart of Indianapolis, and provides 24/7 mobile service support across the state.
“Donley has an established track record of exceeding customer expectations. Their values and capabilities are in perfect alignment with the priorities of Spartan,” said John Slawson, President, Spartan Emergency Response.
Begun as a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) repair center, with three employees and one customer, Donley has grown into a thriving operation of 22 employees with customers all over the State of Indiana and throughout the Midwest. Harking back to its roots, the company has become the go-to expert in air monitoring, instrumentation, and OSHA compliance for confined-space entry and respiratory protection, and is the only Indiana-based warranty repair center in the state of Indiana for portable gas detection and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBAs).
“Donley Safety's growth stems from our professionalism, our sense of commitment to our communities, and our desire to offer the best products and services available in the marketplace,” said Michael Smith, President of Donley Safety. “We have worked hard to become better educated, more technically trained, and more capable of providing the service that our customers demand, and we look forward to having Spartan owners experience the Donley difference.”
A One-Stop Shop for Emergency Response Providers
Spartan apparatus owners looking to Donley for service will receive routine maintenance, repairs and calibration from a staff of factory-trained and certified Emergency Vehicle Technicians (EVTs). These service experts will be available to service a full range of emergency response equipment, including fire apparatus, staff vehicles and ambulances. In addition, fire departments can look to Donley for a variety of other services and products, including up-fit of light duty fire trucks, ambulance re-mounting, emergency lighting, uniforms, and other equipment.
“Indiana is a large market that has demonstrated consistent growth over the last seven years, and we wanted to ensure that we were providing adequate coverage there,” said Mike Virnig, Director of Sales for Spartan Emergency Response. “We searched for a dealer that could provide the same level of expertise, quality, and responsiveness that distinguishes Spartan, and Donley met our standards in every way. We’re confident that owners of Spartan fire and rescue vehicles will receive the very highest level of service from Donley.”
