OKX founder and CEO Star Xu said the exchange declined a yield proposal and prime brokers’ requests for credit lines and delayed liquidation, while describing customer asset protection as a priority.
Xu said Three Arrows Capital approached OKX with a proposal to generate yield, but he chose not to pursue it. Separately, he said the exchange refused other prime brokers’ requests for credit lines and more time before liquidating positions.
Xu also said exchanges should earn revenue through their technology and services while safeguarding customer assets. He said that protection remained a priority as assets under management grew rapidly.
