Stellantis' India roadmap includes five Jeep launches, while a separate Wuhan production plan covers two off-road models from 2027, and the companies have not connected the programs publicly.
Stellantis' Oct. 15 roadmap sets out 12 Jeep and Citroën launches over the next three years: five for Jeep and seven for Citroën. Seven products will be new, while five will receive major upgrades. The lineup spans B-, C- and D-segment SUVs, an MPV, an A-segment car and a premium pickup. The roadmap does not match those vehicle types to individual brands or production sites.
In their May 15 announcement, Stellantis and Dongfeng said their joint venture, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobile Co., Ltd. (DPCA), is expected to begin making two Jeep-branded off-road new-energy vehicles in Wuhan in 2027 for global markets. Production remains contingent on approvals and completion of the companies' agreements.
Autocar Professional reported Saturday, Oct. 24, that C- and D-segment SUVs planned for Jeep's India lineup were the likeliest candidates for China sourcing. The outlet also reported that the vehicles might instead be made in India. It said China's battery and electronics suppliers, manufacturing scale and shorter development cycles could help Jeep compete in India's ₹20 lakh-₹30 lakh segment. Stellantis and Dongfeng have not confirmed whether any India-bound Jeep will be sourced from China.
Stellantis’ India roadmap does not identify whether those SUVs are among the five Jeep launches or say where any individual model will be made. Autocar Professional reported a four-new-model, one-update breakdown for Jeep by 2030; the official roadmap confirms five Jeep launches but does not provide that split.
Stellantis and Dongfeng put the Wuhan project's combined investment at more than 8 billion Chinese yuan, about €1 billion. Stellantis expects to contribute about €130 million. The companies pointed to automotive policies in Hubei province and Wuhan municipality as support for the plan.
The Wuhan production start awaits approvals and finalized implementation agreements, with no decision date announced. Stellantis has scheduled the first launch under its India roadmap by Q2 2027.
