Connecticut Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas is seeking another term as her name appears across three party columns on Norwalk’s official sample ballot ahead of the Nov. 3 election.

The ballot lists Thomas under the Democratic Party, Working Families Party and Independent Party. Republican Peter Lumaj also appears in the secretary of the state race.

Connecticut permits multiple parties to nominate the same candidate. A 2013 report by the Connecticut General Assembly’s Office of Legislative Research says votes for a cross-endorsed candidate are combined across the party lines on which the candidate appears. The report also describes how votes marked for a candidate on multiple lines are allocated among the parties.

The Connecticut AFL-CIO’s 2026 endorsement list names Thomas for the office. The Connecticut Education Association announced its endorsement of her reelection July 29, and Reproductive Equity Now announced its endorsement Aug. 26.

In a campaign news release issued Oct. 21, Thomas said, “I’m not in politics, I’m in governance.”

The state’s 14-day in-person early-voting period began Oct. 19 and runs through Nov. 1. Election Day is Nov. 3.
