Storm damage disrupted several Brussels tram routes and train services at multiple locations, including south of the capital. Four people were injured, and the RMI expanded its orange wind warning Friday.
The warning covered the Brussels-Capital Region and the provinces of Flemish Brabant and Walloon Brabant. STIB-MIVB reported storm-related disruptions on several tram routes. Infrabel said at least five incidents involving fallen trees disrupted train services.
The Brussels Times reported that a tree struck an outdoor cafe terrace at Marché aux Herbes, leaving three people injured. In Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, a separate falling branch caused one more injury.
Earlier in the storm, Météo Bretagne logged a 161 km/h gust at Pointe du Raz, and French utility Enedis said more than 2,000 employees and contractors were on standby after power cuts affected four French regions.
