Proceeds from a common-share sale covered nearly all of Strategy’s $22.1 million Bitcoin (BTC) purchase, which added 267 coins and put its reported holdings at 848,517 BTC on Oct. 18.

An Oct. 19 filing said the coins were bought for an average of $82,900 each, including fees and expenses. Strategy’s previously reported balance was 848,250 BTC on Oct. 11.

Strategy sold 140,872 Class A common shares, generating $22 million in net proceeds, and used $100,000 in cash to cover the remainder, the filing said.

The filing put cumulative acquisition costs for its 848,517 BTC at $64.02 billion, or an average of $75,446 per coin. The average price for the latest purchase was above that cumulative figure.

The purchase increased Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings as the share sale expanded its common share count. Those totals alone do not establish whether Bitcoin holdings per assumed diluted share rose. Earlier coverage of the share-funded purchase detailed the financing.
