Subsea7 said Aker BP selected it for Lyra’s pipeline and subsea package, work tied to a North Sea development that DNO expects to deliver first oil in the first half of 2028.

DNO said the license partners approved the project on Oct. 29. Its estimate puts Lyra’s recoverable resources at 37 million barrels of oil equivalent. The company projects gross plateau production of about 20,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and holds a 40% interest in the development.

Subsea7 did not disclose a price for the award. The company classifies it as substantial, a category it uses for contracts worth $150 million to $300 million. That range defines the category; it is not the disclosed value of the Lyra contract.

The work covers engineering, procurement, construction and installation of gas-lift and production pipelines, along with associated subsea infrastructure. Subsea7 said the production line will use a pipe-in-pipe design. Its teams in Stavanger are due to start project management and engineering right away, while fabrication is planned at the company’s Vigra spool base in Norway.

Lyra lies 44 kilometers from the Gjøa platform in the northern North Sea and was previously called Kjøttkake. Subsea7 said the connection to Gjøa will use infrastructure from the Nova field. Offshore work is planned across 2026, 2027 and 2028, using vessels from Subsea7’s fleet.

DNO said Aker BP will lead the development phase, with operatorship scheduled to return to DNO after first oil. The companies agreed to that arrangement in November 2025. Aker BP said in a June letter that it planned to submit a field development and operations plan during the fourth quarter of 2026.
