Sudan Electricity Holding Company said attacks on Monday damaged equipment at five substations in Sennar, Gedaref, White Nile and Gezira states, disrupting electricity in the southeast and putting the national grid’s stability at risk.

The company said crews would inspect the affected facilities and carry out repairs. It aims to restore electricity as soon as possible but gave no firm deadline.

The utility blamed the strikes on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which has been fighting Sudan’s army since April 2023.
