Sui (SUI) tokens remain in circulation after the Sui Foundation buys them each day, meaning the program shifts holdings among market participants without reducing the cryptocurrency’s total supply.
Stablecoin float supplies the yield for open-market purchases conducted on-chain, the foundation says. It allocates the acquired SUI to validators, decentralized finance projects and other partners as part of its efforts to expand the network.
The purchases transfer existing tokens from market sellers to those recipients. No tokens are burned through the program, so SUI’s total supply stays the same.
Separately, CME Group put average daily volume for its Sui futures suite at 563 contracts in Q3 2026. It reported $253.5 million in total notional volume for the quarter.
Those figures measure futures trading rather than use of the Sui network. By comparison, Sui network activity on Oct. 15 included 13.1 million transactions and 157,000 distinct senders. The blockchain counts cover one day; CME’s figures cover a quarter of derivatives trading.
