Sweden’s central bank, Sveriges Riksbank, bought back SEK 5 billion in certificates on Oct. 21 at a fixed rate of 1.85%, ahead of their Oct. 28 maturity.

The buyback rate was 10 basis points above the bank’s steering rate. The transaction is scheduled to settle Oct. 22, one day after the trade.

The repurchase followed a separate certificate sale on Oct. 20. In that auction, the Riksbank accepted SEK 436.6 billion in bids against an offered volume of SEK 471 billion. The sale carried a rate of 1.75%, and those certificates also mature Oct. 28.

The buyback is due to settle Oct. 22. The certificates from both transactions mature Oct. 28.
