Swiggy’s September-quarter results showed a split in performance: food delivery set an adjusted EBITDA record, while consolidated losses widened sequentially and quick commerce reported a Rs 895 crore adjusted EBITDA loss.
The unaudited filing put consolidated net loss at Rs 922 crore for the three months ended Sept. 30, down from Rs 1,092 crore in the year-earlier quarter. The June-quarter loss was Rs 791 crore. Revenue from operations totaled Rs 7,571 crore, 36.1% above the Rs 5,561 crore recorded a year earlier.
NDTV Profit reported Bloomberg estimates of a Rs 871 crore loss and Rs 7,336 crore in revenue for the quarter. Against those projections, Swiggy’s loss was larger and its revenue higher.
Swiggy’s press release separately listed “overall revenue” at Rs 7,909 crore, up 33.8%. It did not explain how that figure relates to the filing’s Rs 7,571 crore in revenue from operations.
Food delivery booked Rs 341 crore in adjusted EBITDA, an increase of Rs 101 crore from a year earlier. Its gross order value reached Rs 10,054 crore, up 17.7%, while adjusted EBITDA amounted to 3.4% of that total. Swiggy Managing Director and Group CEO Sriharsha Majety said the business delivered its “highest ever profits and margins.” He also pointed to Toing, the company’s standalone affordable-meals offering, as a way to pursue growth in another category.
Swiggy reported an adjusted EBITDA loss of Rs 895 crore for quick commerce. Instamart’s store count grew by 69 dark stores to 1,240 over the quarter.
Swiggy’s June-quarter reporting put Instamart’s contribution margin at negative 0.2% of gross order value, after it reached zero in May; quick commerce recorded an adjusted EBITDA loss of Rs 778 crore. EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of the margin and loss figures detailed those results.
NDTV Profit reported that Swiggy expects food-delivery gross order value to grow 18% to 20% in FY27, excluding Toing. The outlet also reported that the company does not expect quick-commerce competition to ease in the near term.
