CLEARWATER, Fla., Jan. 05, 2017 -- Sylvan-Abbey Funeral Home, a proud provider in the Dignity Memorial® network, is on pace to complete a $2.2 million expansion and renovation of their facilities in 2017. Sylvan-Abbey Funeral Home, located at 2853 Sunset Point Rd, will encompass over 12,000 sq. ft. with state-of-the art sensory-focused surroundings and amenities.
The official ground breaking of the Sylvan-Abbey Funeral Home renovation project took place on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, with special guests Mayor George Cretekos, President of the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce Carol Hague and President of the Central Pinellas Chamber of Commerce Tom Morrissette leading the ceremony. Among those participating were the former owners of Sylvan-Abbey Funeral Home, formerly known as Moss-Feaster Funeral Home, George and Kim Feaster and Sylvan-Abbey management, W. Jay Hering and Carrie Orozco.
“We are extremely proud of the role Sylvan-Abbey Funeral Home and Memorial Park has played in the rich history of Pinellas County,” said W. Jay Hering, manager of funeral home operations for Sylvan-Abbey Funeral Home and Serenity Funeral Home. “We are fortunate to have George Feaster as a consulting member of our management team to ensure that we respect the vision created by George and his brother.”
Established in 1853, Sylvan Abbey is privileged with the responsibility of preserving the legacy of many of the city’s founders and pioneering families and serving hundreds of families each year.
“We plan to continue celebrating lives like no other,” Hering said. “We want to inspire families to think differently about funeral services, allowing us to create unique, highly personalized tributes that celebrate the individual’s life passions and accomplishments.”
