Türkiye’s 2027 budget draft projects about $1.86 billion for space and aviation programs over 2027-29, as the combined allocation is projected to rise 181.7% next year, Anadolu Agency reported.
The agency said the draft and its justification list $495.7 million for 2027, $616.9 million for 2028 and $745 million for 2029. Those annual figures add to about $1.86 billion for the three-year period. The report separately gives $176 million for the current year, 2026, which is not part of that total. The proposed 2027 amount is 181.7% higher than the current-year figure, Anadolu Agency said.
For air transport facilities, the report lists $377.3 million in 2027. It gives separate infrastructure projections of $581.1 million for 2028 and $596.2 million for 2029. Passenger targets, including direct transit travelers, are 272 million in 2027, 282 million in 2028 and 291 million in 2029, the agency reported.
Space funding is intended to support research and testing infrastructure, bring domestic technologies into commercial use and advance Türkiye’s National Space Program. Anadolu Agency said the stated aims include improving global competitiveness and achieving independent access to orbit. The report ties aviation investment to meeting domestic travel demand.
Türkiye’s first deep-space lunar mission is planned for 2027, Anadolu Agency reported. The spacecraft has completed assembly and is undergoing further testing; it features a hybrid propulsion system. The agency also reported that Türkiye is pursuing a project to establish a spaceport in Somalia.
