Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) shares closed 0.11% higher on Nov. 6 after reaching ₹2,565, as the final NSE price sat below a technical resistance level cited by The Economic Times.
National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) data put the close at ₹2,498.50, up ₹2.80 from the previous close of ₹2,495.70. The shares opened at ₹2,533.60, traded between ₹2,489.60 and ₹2,565, and logged volume of 4.922 million shares.
In a Nov. 6 update, The Economic Times reported TCS at ₹2,545 and listed ₹2,544.30 as its second resistance level, known as R2. The NSE’s session high shows the shares traded above that price, though the exchange data does not establish how the liveblog derived its technical level.
The Economic Times later reported a close of ₹2,500 and a 0.18% gain. That figure differs from the NSE’s final price and percentage change. EconoTimes previously covered a similar mismatch between TCS prices in market listings and the liveblog in its report on conflicting TCS price updates.
TCS reported on Oct. 8 that revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $7.642 billion, up 2.4% from a year earlier in U.S. dollars. The company also reported net profit of $1.45 billion and an operating margin of 24%. The Economic Times described market sentiment as positive in one update but did not identify a specific driver for the Nov. 6 share move.
