Node operators running java-tron are required to move to TRON's GreatVoyage-v4.8.2.4 release, which targets rare execution conditions and changes how smart-contract data is handled in edge cases.

TRON dated the release Oct. 22 and named it Empedocles. Its release entry links the work to issue #7053 and lists execution consistency, smart-contract storage and metadata handling among the areas addressed.

The release page describes how to verify its signed JAR downloads.

GreatVoyage-v4.8.2.3, called Anaxagoras, was the preceding mandatory java-tron update and was published Sept. 30. Anaxagoras addressed storage access, BN128 pairing performance and node-generated JSON parsing.
