Taiwan’s main stock index began Wednesday’s session at 43,449.45, up 141.91 points from its previous close, providing an early measure of trading on the island’s equity market, Central News Agency reported.

Turnover at the opening totaled NT$11.47 billion, or US$349.95 million.
