NEW YORK, Oct. 31, 2017 -- Comic site and app TappyToon’s hit webcomic “Bloody Sweet” is on the verge of becoming a 600-page full-color softcover book thanks to raising more than 50% of it’s goal through their new crowdfunding Kickstarter campaign.
Creator Narae Lee—best known to manga fans as the artist of James Patterson's best-selling Maximum Ride OEL series—brought the widely-beloved shaman-vampire romance tale to life at TappyToon. Now she hopes to give fans what they’ve long been asking for: a fully-fledged graphic novel of the complete first season.
“Bloody Sweet” tells the story of Naerim, a teenage daughter of a shaman, who falls in love with Fetechou, a centuries-old vampire, after awakening him under peer pressure one night. This is a coming-of-age story of a young woman’s self-discovery while overcoming agony over her shaman-to-be status.
“If you’ve already read Bloody Sweet in TappyToon digitally by app or website, you know all the exciting story beats and colorful artwork that pops off the screen,” the campaign announces. “Now imagine holding it printed in graphic novel comic format,” it teases fans.
As TappyToon’s most popular title ever, the comic has received overwhelming support from fans around the globe in more than 190 countries. With the Kickstarter campaign’s goals, the "BLOODY SWEET: Volume 1" Graphic Novel will include:
- 600+ pages in full-color
- All of Season 1 as seen in TappyToon, formatted for print
- English language
- 5.83in x 8.27in (148mm x 210mm, A5 size)
- Front and back cover gatefolds (French flaps)
TappyToon is offering Kickstarter backers exclusive rewards such as canvas totes, plastic clear files and enamel pins of “Bloody Sweet” couple.
TappyToon is continuing its banner year in 2017 with an upcoming appearance at the inaugural Anime NYC convention. It will join exhibitors ranging from anime, to manga publishers, to game companies at New York City’s Javits Center.
