CLEARWATER, Fla., Oct. 19, 2016 -- Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq:TECD) today announced the addition of Security 360, a four-hour technical security training, to its Cisco® Managed Security Proof of Value (POV) assessment program. Offered through Tech Data’s Cisco Solutions Group, the training is available to solution providers in the United States. The announcement was made in conjunction with Tech Data’s TechSelect Fall Partner Conference, taking place this week at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort in Orlando, Fla.
“As the cybersecurity landscape evolves, Tech Data continues to expand our portfolio through trainings like Security 360,” said Angie Beltz, vice president, Cisco Solutions Group at Tech Data. “Tech Data is currently the only distributor offering Security 360, and we are excited to further expand our exclusive Cisco Momentum program to include an additional security training that offers our partners specialized support. Tech Data’s channel partners can leverage these programs, along with the rest of Tech Data’s enablement offerings to build, strengthen and grow their security practices.”
Tech Data’s Security 360 training teaches partners how to position Cisco Security solutions, such as Next-Generation Firewalls with FirePOWERTM services, in addition to teaching how to complete POV assessments. Through the training, solution providers will make progress toward attaining Fire Jumper status, which is a new requirement in Cisco’s Master Security Specialization. The designation offers priority access to advanced Cisco security training and events.
“As Tech Data expands its Cisco Managed Service Proof of Value Assessment Program, it continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing partners with helpful resources to grow their security practices,” said Andrew Sage, vice president, Americas Distribution at Cisco. “Security 360 and the Fire Jumper designation deliver differentiation in the cybersecurity space, and with security as a top priority for Cisco, we are pleased to collaborate with Tech Data to provide the technology, training and services that solution providers can use to help increase profits and drive new growth opportunities.”
“The Managed Security POV Assessment program through Tech Data, along with their enablement offerings like Security 360, have allowed our organization to better execute cybersecurity solutions, while also providing us with the knowledge and confidence to close security opportunities faster,” said Raymond Benoit, president, RTM Communications. “Our customers have access to Cisco’s full end-to-end security solutions, and with Tech Data’s enablement tools, they are presented with visibility into potential threats, malware, bots and other risky behavior, allowing them to better protect their businesses.”
Tech Data has also enhanced its Cisco Solutions Group dashboard, an online platform that offers training and development resources to enable partners to grow a successful Cisco practice. The completely updated dashboard now features an interactive design, as well as a resource library that offers case studies, infographics, white papers and trainings.
In June, Tech Data received Cisco’s Excellence in Security and Innovation in Services awards for its growth, development and transformation of its security consultations, market and competitive penetrations, partner security practices and POV success. Tech Data was also awarded Cisco’s Enablement and Scale Partner Satisfaction award for its partner enablement, effectiveness, competitive growth and enhancements to its dynamic support model.
